Approaching the kick-off of its
18th edition, Tastes of the Frontier has unveiled the highlights
of its world map of tastes and flavors for the 2023 edition,
scheduled from Thursday, September 21, to Sunday, Sept. 24, in
Gorizia.
The tried-and-true food and wine festival was presented today
at a press conference attended by Gorizia Mayor Rodolfo Ziberna,
Municipal Councillor for Major Events Arianna Bellan, and
Regional Councillor for Productive Activities and Tourism Sergio
Bini.
What is unanimously considered one of the most impressive and
participated events dedicated to food in the Triveneto region
and a must-attend event now at the national level becomes this
year, more than ever, the gastronomic epicenter of Europe given
the long-awaited Go! 2025, Nova Gorica and Gorizia Capital of
Culture 2025, when international attention will be focused on a
unique territory in its history, geography, landscape, and
culture, including gastronomy.
Not only dishes and delicacies from all over the world then -
with 341 stands representing more than 30 countries from the
five continents located on streets and squares - but at the
festival, there is a place of honor for top local specialties.
Among the protagonists of this edition are some of the main
Slow Food 'presidia' that will be displayed in the new "Park of
Taste" within the institutional area housed in the Municipal
Park.
The 'Io sono FVG' branded products will also play a prominent
role. The upcoming 2023 edition confirms the format dividing the
city center into geographic Villages: 14, a colorful Taste Map
featuring the Borgo Street food, the Borgo Oriente - from this
year in the new location of Piazza Vittoria given the success of
Thai cuisine, Northern Europe, the much-loved Borgo France, the
Borgo 3P-Pane pasta pizza, the delicatessen from Austria,
Central Europe, the Balkans, with Slovenia, Greece, Serbia,
Romania and Bosnia, Africa, the successful Borgo Mare, the Borgo
Latino, and the American one. There will be several free
openings of cultural venues and exhibitions during the event,
beginning with free admission to Gorizia Castle, the
Lasciapassare/Prepustnica Border Museum, the Rafut Pass, and the
Erpac Museums in Borgo Castello.September 24
