Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro
Kuleba said Sunday Ukraine would never raise any flag other than
its national flag in yellow and blue.
"Our flag is yellow and blue. This is the flag with which we
live, die and win. We will never raise any other flag," wrote
Kuleba on X after Pope Francis in an interview with Swiss TV
used the image of a white flag to call for a ceasefire in
Ukraine and the courage of negotiation.
"We thank His Holiness Pope Francis for his constant prayers for
peace, and we continue to hope that after two years of
devastating war in the heart of Europe, the Pontiff will find an
opportunity to make an apostolic visit to Ukraine to support
over one million Ukrainian Catholics, over five million Greek
Catholics, all Christians and all Ukrainians," he added.
