Italy on Wednesday named six new
museum chiefs after an international competition, Culture
Minister Dario Franceschini announced.
They are: Ilaria Ester Bonacossa at the new Museum of Digital
Art in Milan; Andrea Viliani at the Museo delle Civiltà in Roma;
Tiziana D'Angelo at the Parco di Paestum e Velia; Enrico Rinaldi
at the Parco di Sepino; Vincenzo Belelli at the Archeological
Park of Cerveteri and Tarquinia; and Axel Hemery at the
Pinacoteca di Siena.
Franceschini said: "Italian museums have changed and are now
world beaters.
"The cross between autonomy and quality has enabled us to take
major steps forward".
