(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 1 - Team Europe Captain Luke Donald said
he was going mad with joy after his men regained the Ryder Cup
Sunday.
"I'm excited. It was a long journey, a fantastic voyage," said a
visibly overjoyed Donald after his team beat USA 16.5 to 11.5
despite a stirring US fightback in the last day's singles.
"It was stressful to see USA fight until the end today, hats off
to them. But I'm so proud of my boys. We formed a bond from the
first day and they gave me everything. They trusted me and they
did everything for me.
"We started off great, then we lost a few matches. WE were
watching the scoreboard thinking 'where are we going to find 14
and a half points?' Then the boys made us go crazy with joy".
