(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 26 - Team Europe tried out the Rome Ryder
Cup course on Tuesday ahead of next weekend's clash with Team
USA.
Big crowds were on the practice course and at the first tee to
see stars like Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Sepp Straka and
Rory McIlroy tee off for their practice rounds.
Lowry, Open winner in 2019, was the first to tee off.
The second European group was made up of Jon Rahm, Viktor
Hovland, Tyrrell Hatton and Ludvig Haberg.
Captains Luke Donald and Zach Jonshon spoke to the press,
meanwhile.
Donald said "I'm not going to get a tattoo if we win" while
Jonson said "Team USA does not start out as favourite" even
after their 19-9 mauling of the Europeans at Whistling Straits
two years ago.
This year's event, the first ever in Italy, runs from September
30 to October 1 at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club at
Guidonia Montecelio, just northeast of the Italian capital.
