pomegranate in Kandahar, Afghanistan, 05 October 2022.
Shams-ur-Rahman Musa, head of agricultural products at the
Kandahar agriculture department, said that the amount of
pomegranates grown in Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province
has dropped by 10 percent, mainly because of floods and
droughts. The pomegranate crop is grown on an area of around
10,000 hectares of land. The provincial chamber of commerce said
that so far this year, 13,134 tons of pomegranate have been sent
to other countries. EPA/STRINGER
