Coronavirus: more than 154,000 cases in New Europe,3380 died

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 10 APR - A total of 154,808 confirmed cases of coronavirus (+7598 day-on-day), 108202 in Germany only, were registered in countries in Central- and Eastern Europe, Germany, Austria and Greece as April 9, show official data of national authorities collected by the World Health Organization (WHO). The total number of fatalities in the region is 3380 (+385), out of which 2107 registered in Germany, 273 in Austria, 209 in Romania, 159 in Poland.

Most of cases of COVID-19 in the area were registered in Germany (108202, +4974 in the last 24 hours), followed by Austria (12969, +329), Czech Republic (5312, +295), Poland (5205, +357), Romania (4761, +344), Serbia (2666, +219), Ukraine (1892, +224), Greece (1884, +52), Croatia (1343, +61), Estonia (1185, +36), Moldova (1174, +118), Slovenia (1091, +36), Belarus (1066, +205), Hungary (980, +85), Lithuania (912, +32), Bosnia-Herzegovina (816, +35), Slovakia (682, +84), North Macedonia (617, +18), Bulgaria (593, +16), Latvia (577, +29), Albania (409, +9), Montenegro (248,) and Kosovo (224, +40).

In Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and in the Western Balkans (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania) 12768 confirmed cases and 452 deaths were registered until April 9.

Austria has registered 1456 cases of COVID-19 per million, compared to 2305 in Italy, followed by Germany (1301) and Estonia (892), according to a tally by ANSA based on WHO data.

The tally shows that Austria has also registered the highest number of deaths per one million population in the region (30.6), followed by Germany (25.3) and Slovenia (19.3). Italy has recorded 292.1 deaths per million inhabitants as of yesterday. (ANSA).
