Fishery: Italy, we are working on a deal along the Adriatic

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, OCT 8 - "We are working through diplomacy because it is necessary, especially at sea, to have a common attitude, coordination of control activities. The sea has no borders, and therefore it is clear that the coordination of forces operating in the Adriatic Sea is essential. We are working on this issue, thanks especially to Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio".

Italy's Agriculture minister Stefano Patuanelli said during his speech at the round table on Environmental sustainability in the fishing sector and the entire fishing chain yesterday evening at the Port Authority in Trieste. Patuanelli responded to the need in the Adriatic for a shared protocol between Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy that even the head of the Trieste Harbour Office, Admiral Vincenzo Vitale, underlined. As for the timing, the minister did not express himself. "I cannot write dates and times on the calendar - he added -, but I can say that the job that we are doing is very profitable; I believe there is a common interest in operating together. Therefore, our path is not uphill." (ANSA).
