(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 28 - There was a record number of visitors
to Expo Dubai 2020 over the Christmas period, sources said
Tuesday.
Despite the UAE being an Islamic country, visitors flocked to
the Universal Exposition during the holiday, with numbers up by
over a million on the previous week, hitting 8,067,012, the
biggest surge since it opened on October 1.
Online visits to the Virtual Expo also rose, to 37 million,
with over three million children around the world taking part in
remote educational sessions in six languages over the last 20
days.
Online participation is being encouraged amid the Omicron COVID
wave which has seen health and safety measures increased at
Expo. (ANSA).
