(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 24 - Florence Mayor Dario Nardella has
been fostering cooperation between the Tuscan city and the
United Arab Emirates (UAE) during a visit to Expo 2020 Dubai
this week.
The city said that Nardella met Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, president of the Dubai Culture and Arts
Authority, following a tour of the Italy Pavilion.
They discussed potential culture and knowledge exchange
programmes involving Dubai and Florence as part of a strategic
collaboration, the city of Florence said in a statement.
"We are proud to start this historic partnership between
Florence and Dubai that is based on culture, innovation and
creativity," said Nardella.
"The intention of Her Highness (Al Maktoum) is extremely
important for us because it goes in the direction of joint
investments for projects in various fields in the two cities".
