(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 3 - The Italy Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai
attracted over 300,000 visits during the first month of the
World Fair, making it one of the event's biggest attractions,
according to the Commissioner for Italy's participation at Expo,
Paolo Glisenti.
Expo 2020 had 2,350,868 visits in its first month, including
trips to the venue by people who may have accessed the site on
different days, organizers have said.
"There is still a long way to go but this positive start has
made us aware of our responsibilities," Glisenti said.
"We are one of the most-visited pavilions and we closed (the
month) with a number of visits that was much higher than the
forecasts beforehand, which were difficult due to post-COVID
uncertainty.
"Our pavilion is among the top destinations for visitors to this
Expo, with 300,000 visits, a threshold France has reached too,
ahead of Germany and Switzerland.
"Aside from the numbers, these four are among the pavilions that
are most popular with the tourists of the first Universal
Exposition in the Middle East".
Glisenti added that it was important for Italy to do well at
Expo 2020 in order to "legitimize and strengthen" Rome's bid to
host the 2030 World Fair. (ANSA).
