(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 24 - Premier Giorgia Meloni said Friday
she agreed with France's position on nuclear power.
France has the greatest share of nuclear power in total
electricity generation of any country worldwide. In 2021,
nuclear energy accounted for 69 percent of France's total
electricity production.
Meloni said after the EU summit: "I share the position of
technological neutrality, so yes, I think that above and beyond
technology that can guarantee the EU's objectives (on
sustainable energy), other technologies must also be recognised
that meet certain targets, no matter whether nuclear power is
used in a nation or not". (ANSA).
