New Salernitana coach Stefano
Colantuono has said Serie A's basement side can avoid the drop
to the second tier after becoming their new coach.
On Sunday the Salerno side sacked Fabrizio Castori, who last
term led them to promotion to the top flight for the first time
in 23 years.
They currently have four points from eight Serie A games after
losing 2-1 at Spezia on Saturday.
It is the second stint on the Salernitana bench for the
much-travelled Colantuono.
"I'm very happy to return to Salerno, where I was really happy
and had to move on for family reasons," Colantuono said.
"I think there are all the necessary conditions to be able to do
an excellent job and hit the target of survival".
