(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUGUST 23 - Croatia is expected to start
selling minority stakes in tourism companies, the specialized
portal SeeNews reported, quoting Croatia media. According to
reports, in autumn the government will put on sale stakes in
companies such as Arena Hospitality Group, FTB Tourism,
Tankerska Plovidba, Laguna Novigrad and Maistra.
"Last week, Zvonimir Savic, a special economic advisor to
prime minister Andrej Plenkovic, said that the government will
put up for sale its minority stakes in at least 90 companies in
three waves by the middle of next year as part of preparations
to adopt the euro," SeeNews reported. The portal added that the
government could also sell a stake in Hrvatski Telekom,
controlled by Deutsche Telekom.
In July, Croatia send a letter of intent to join the European
Exchange Rate Mechanism II, the first step to join the euro
