(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUGUST 23 - Croatia is expected to start selling minority stakes in tourism companies, the specialized portal SeeNews reported, quoting Croatia media. According to reports, in autumn the government will put on sale stakes in companies such as Arena Hospitality Group, FTB Tourism, Tankerska Plovidba, Laguna Novigrad and Maistra. "Last week, Zvonimir Savic, a special economic advisor to prime minister Andrej Plenkovic, said that the government will put up for sale its minority stakes in at least 90 companies in three waves by the middle of next year as part of preparations to adopt the euro," SeeNews reported. The portal added that the government could also sell a stake in Hrvatski Telekom, controlled by Deutsche Telekom. In July, Croatia send a letter of intent to join the European Exchange Rate Mechanism II, the first step to join the euro area. (ANSA).
