Schengen suspension renewed for 20 days - Piantedosi

Not pleasant for us says interior minister

16 November, 22:05

(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 16 - The suspension of the Schengen border-free rules at Italy's eastern border with Slovenia will be renewed for another 20 days after the government reintroduced controls at that border due to the intensification of crisis hotbeds on Europe's borders, particularly after the attack on Israel by Hamas, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi said Thursday. "I have requested a further 20-day extension of the measure' of Schengen suspension," he said on SkyTg24's Live in Genova show. "This is not something pleasant for us," he stressed. (ANSA).
