Hungary submits bill on national sovereignty protection

Penalties for politicians using prohibited foreign funds

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, NOV 22 - As part of the twelfth amendment to the Fundamental Law, the Hungarian government submitted a bill to the National Assembly to establish a so-called "Sovereignty Protection Office," according to HUngarian government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs on X today. The proposed office will analyse and investigate foreign influences on national sovereignty, including electoral processes, in order to protect constitutional identity. The bill also amends the Criminal Code to impose penalties on candidates who use prohibited foreign funds in elections. (ANSA).
