(ANSA) - ISTANBUL, FEB 5 - New "explorative talks" between
Turkey and Greece are scheduled to take place between the end of
February and the beginning of March, before the European Council
on March 25-26, Greek Premier Kyriakos Mitsotakis said, speaking
about a "step in the right direction". The first meeting in this
format since 2016 was held in Istanbul on January 25. The aim is
to discuss disputes on the eastern Mediterranean and other
bilateral issues. The location of the next round of talks still
needs to be determined. The sides had agreed to meet in Athens,
but Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said this week that
talks could be hosted in Ankara, expressing the wish to
"maintain dialogue and find political and peaceful solutions to
the problems". (ANSA).
