(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 16 - Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a
priority for the Italian government, Industry Undersecretary
Anna Ascani said at Expo 2020 Dubai Tuesday.
In a link with the event at the Italian pavilion "The EU vision
for trustworthy AI in the world" , she said "AI is a priority
for the Italian government, which last November approved its
strategic plan on artificial intelligence, which has a strong
vocation for results with clear references to the implementation
of policies and funding lines that can be activated to do so".
The event was attended in person and remotely by, among others,
EU Ambassador to the UAE Andrea Matteo Fontana; deputy director
general for UNESCO's social and human sciences, Gabriela Ramos;
and PD MEP and member of the European Parliament's special panel
on artificial intelligence, Brando Benifei.
They noted that the trustworthiness of AI had been one of the
priorities of the Italian presidency of the G20. (ANSA).
