(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 10 - There are major opportunities in the
United Arab Emirates for cooperation in the energy sector,
Italy's ambassador to the UAE, Nicola Lener, told a foreign
trade agency ICE event at the Italian pavilion on Wednesday.
With their commitment to cutting greenhouse emissions and
boosting clean energy, the UAE have "planned major investment"
and "there are on the table many opportunities for greater
cooperation with international investors and partners like
Italy, and we have shown that we have the technology," Lener
said at the meeting "The global need to save energy".
The Emirates have done an "exceptional" job in cutting emissions
in the last few years, he said, adding that there were "major
Italian innovations" in the sector. (ANSA).
