Society splits if wealth is not
shared, Pope Francis said Friday.
"When society no longer has as its fundament the principle of
solidarity and the common good, we witness the scandal of people
living in extreme poverty alongside skyscrapers, imposing hotels
and luxurious shopping malls, symbols of stunning wealth," he
said.
"If wealth is not shared, society splits," he said.
"Following the example of Christ, we must in fact try to help
those who are weak. Solidarity and common responsibility must be
the laws that hold up the Christian family".
