A worker believed to be around
50 years old was seriously injured on Friday afternoon at the
construction site for the new viaduct in Genoa that will replace
the Morandi bridge, which collapsed last year, killing 43
people.
The man was reportedly crushed under a piece of machinery and
suffered chest injuries.
The incident is the second at the worksite: on November 20, a
crane fell to one side and three workers were hurt.
